This English version is a translation provided for your convenience. If there is any difference between it and the Spanish version, the Spanish version prevails.
Who is responsible
The controller of your data is the Pentathlos team, which develops the Pentathlos app. For anything about your data, write to us at [email protected].
Without an account: everything stays on your phone
Your workouts, routines, records, measurements, meals, nights, cardio activities, your name, your photo and your settings are stored only on this phone. Nobody else, not even us, can see them. Location (for cardio routes) and the microphone (Night mode) are processed on the phone: audio is never recorded and never leaves it, and a route only leaves it if you publish it.
With an account: what we store
If you create an account to use Social, we store on our server:
• Your email and your password, so you can sign in. The password is stored encrypted: nobody can read it, not even us.
• That you have declared you are 16 or older, and when you accepted the terms.
• Your username, your name, your profile photo (reduced and without location data) and whether your account is private.
• Who you follow and who follows you, and the accounts you block.
• What you decide to publish: a summary of each workout or activity (never your body weight or your calories), whether you complete each pillar, your photos (reduced and without location data), texts, comments and likes.
• The GPS route of an activity, only if you choose to show it when publishing (by default it is not published). If you choose to, by default it goes without the start and the end, so that nobody can tell where you live; only the drawing, without times or altitudes.
• The reports you make or that your content receives.
• For security, the server logs the IP address and the time of each sign-in.
What for and on what legal basis
• Providing the Social service (account, publishing, following, commenting): it is necessary for the contract you accept when you create the account (art. 6.1.b GDPR).
• What you publish about your physical activity and your habits may be considered health data. It is only uploaded if you choose to, with your explicit consent (art. 9.2.a), which you can withdraw by deleting the post or the account.
• Reviewing reports and protecting users: legitimate interest in keeping the community safe (art. 6.1.f).
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not profile you or make automated decisions about you.
Who sees what you publish
You choose for each post: everyone, your followers or only you. In addition, in Account and privacy you decide who sees each pillar: what you hide does not leave the phone. With a private account, only the people you accept can follow you.
Who we share data with
Only with the providers that make the service work, under a data processing agreement:
• Supabase (database, photos and accounts), with servers in the European Union.
• Resend (sending the email with the code).
If any of them processes data outside the European Economic Area, it does so with the safeguards of the GDPR (the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
When you search for a food or scan its barcode, the app queries Open Food Facts with that code or text, without any data about you.
How long
Your account data is kept for as long as you have the account. When you delete it (Settings → Account and privacy → Delete account), everything on the server is deleted immediately: profile, posts, photos, comments, likes and followers. Backups are overwritten within a few days and email delivery logs within a few weeks. What is on the phone is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Your rights
You can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, take it with you (portability), restrict its use or object, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to [email protected]. Many of these you can do yourself from the app. If you believe we are not handling your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Minimum age
To create an account you must be at least 16, and you declare it when you create it. In Spain you can give your own consent from the age of 14 (art. 7 of Organic Law 3/2018); we ask for 16, like most EU countries. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.
Phone permissions
The app only asks for permissions when they are needed and you choose to: camera and photos (profile photo, workout photos, publishing and barcodes), location (cardio routes), motion (elevation) and microphone (Night mode). We do not track your activity in other apps or websites, and we do not use cookies, analytics or advertising.
Changes
If we change what data we store or what for, we will update this policy and let you know in the app beforehand.
